COVID-19

For information about the COVID Vaccine, click here

Coronavirus has dramatically changed the way in which we provide health and care services to our patients.  As the government guidance changes in response to the current situation in Scotland, we may need to alter how we offer our services in order to provide you with the best care whilst keeping you and our staff safe.

If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 please do not attend Dollar Health Centre.   Advice on testing is available on NHS Inform. NHS Forth Valley is running specialised COVID assessment centres for people who are unwell. We can book you into the assessment centre, or phone 111 out of normal working hours.

Booking Appointments

Appointments should be booked over the phone.  Please our Appointments page for more information about the different types of appointment we are able to offer.   Dr Meeten discusses the impact of COVID on how we are providing healthcare below:

Prescriptions

Please do not come into the practice to order a repeat prescription.  We have a variety of ways to order prescriptions remotely, and our reception staff would be happy to help you with this over the phone.

We are able to give the signed prescriptions directly to Lloyds pharmacy in Dollar for you to collect.  We would prefer this to collecting them from the practice.

Please see here for more information about ordering and collecting prescriptions.

Coming to the Practice

Whenever possible, please contact us by phone or email.  If you need to come to the practice, please see below for the current procedures.

You must wear a face covering before entering the building if you are able to.

Attending an appointment

Unless you have been asked to come in, please wait in your car or in the shelter outside the front door.  The clinician taking your appointment will meet you at the door when ready, wearing PPE (personal protective equipment).

Please do not phone reception to say you have arrived, unless 10 minutes has passed since your scheduled appointment time.

If attending a bloods (phlebotomy) or treatment room appointment, please just come in and give your name to one of the reception staff so we know you have arrived before sitting in the waiting room.

Whenever possible, we would prefer it if you came to your face-to-face appointment alone to reduce the risk of spread.

Collecting sample bottles

Please come to the reception desk and one of the members of staff will be happy to help you.

Returning sample bottlesPlease place sample bottles to be tested in the box in front of the reception desk.  Please ensure your information is filled out on the form before you come in.
Returning blood pressure monitorsPlease place your home ambulatory blood pressure monitor in the appropriate box in front of the reception desk (to the right of the box for sample bottles).  Please leave your blood pressure readings inside the bag with your details filled in.
Handing in letters

If you are able to send information by email please do so using the address found here.  If you need to hand in a physical document, please place it in the black letterbox to the left of the reception desk once you enter the building.

If you are a new patient wanting to register, please hand in your forms at the desk, as we will need to see ID.  More information about joining the practice can be found here.
